im in the middle of finals week at university. i have three finals left: european history 101, organic chemistry, and genetics. i’m freaking out because i desperately want A’s in all my classes but i know it’s not possible. i’ve been consistently doing bad in orgo ever since last semester so at this point, i’m hoping for a B in the class. i’m not even sure if i can even get a B in the class because i don’t know anything. i tried to do the last year’s final exam and i didn’t know anything. i had a mini panic attack last night because of it.

also genetics, i really really want an A in this class because this is my major and i want to become a TA for the class next spring. to be a TA, you have to get an A in the course. i got an 87 and a 72 on my last two midterms which pretty much translate to an A- and a B so i have to do really well on my final to get an A. i want this A so badly but i don’t think i can do it. i’m studying for three finals all at once. my genetics and orgo final are both on tuesday, one right after the other.

at this point, i feel so discouraged. i’m a pre-med student and i know that i’m supposed to excel at everything and have this awesome GPA. but now that i know that i’m settling for a B and will be happy with a B in orgo, i feel as though med schools will not want me because they will see semesters of B’s instead of A’s. i what this dream badly but i don’t think i work as hard as i can for it which makes me think, “do i really want to be a doctor as much as i think i do?” and “do i deserve to call myself a pre-med student?”

i don’t know what to do with myself anymore. ultimately, i’m just sick of school and i’m ready to go home. i miss my parents, my sister, my boyfriend, my best friends, home-cooked meals, my bed, my clean bathroom, and my sanity.
